About Digital Leisure

Digital Leisure, Inc. was formed in 1997 with a vision of acquiring, re-mastering and publishing existing video-intensive games that would benefit from the superior video and audio quality of DVD and bringing these interactive titles to DVD movie players, PC DVD-ROM and PC CD-ROM systems. Digital Leisure first acquired the rights to Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp in early 1997, the three games that redefined the gaming industry in the 1980s. The games were created by Rick Dyer and feature spectacular quality animation by Don Bluth, an ex-Disney animator who is also known for his work on All Dogs Go To Heaven, The Land Before Time and Anastasia.

Since those humble beginnings, Digital Leisure has continued to aquire many of the classic arcade licenses retro gamers know and love. Titles like Hologram Time Traveler, Tender Loving Care and in 2001 to much excitement the company acquired and began development to rerelease the entire American Laser Games catalog of nine laser disc arcade titles including Mad Dog McCree, Crime Patrol and Who Shot Johnny Rock? and Fast Draw Showdown

In 2003, Digital Leisure signed a distribution agreement with Empire Interactive to release the popular "Virtual Music Studio" brand eJay to the North American market.  The eJay range spans programs from the award-winning Dance, HipHop and Techno series including current bestsellers Dance 7, HipHop 6 and Techno 5.

With the evolution of optical media to High Definition formats Digital Leisure completely remastered the award winning Dragon's Lair for Blu-ray and HD DVD releasing the full series through 2009.

Looking to break in to ever expanding casul console market, Digital Leisure began development on a line of Nintendo Wii based titles in the Summer of 2008, and had their first release, "The Incredible Maze" on Nintendo's WiiWare service that Fall. Digital Leisure has sinced released nine WiiWare titles all of which have found themselves on Top 20 listing worldwide. Its most successful WiiWare title to date is "Mix Superstar", the first music creation studio for this console generation.

Seeing the previous success of retro titles in the marketplace, Digital Leisure developed Nintendo Disc based releases including "Mad Dog McCree Gunslinger Pack" published by Majesco Entertainment and the Dragon's Lair Trilogy published by Destineer Games..

Digital Leisure has also released many successful casual DSiWare releases including "Sudoku Challenge!", "5 in 1 Solitaire" and most recently "21: Blackjack".

As the company continues to grow and expand, it plans to release many of its most popular titles on Sony's PlayStation 3 and is currently exploring many exciting oppourtunities on the console.

Based outside Toronto, Canada, Digital Leisure develops new IP, acquires licenses to classic video-based titles and provides distribution services for both its own products as well as distribution and publishing services for developers.
